FACED PRIVACY POLICY

 

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

  1. Information about us

    1. I am Hattie Taylor-Gell, a sole trader established in England and Wales trading as “Faced” and my address is 83 St James Green, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7 1AJ. I operate the website at www.iwannabefaced.co.uk (“our site”). I am the data controller, for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

  2. The information we collect and how we use it

    1. When you purchase a product from our site, we collect certain information such as your name, and e-mail address. We will use that information as described in clauses 2.2 and 2.4 below. We may also collect certain information such as your name and e-mail address when you submit that information on our email enquiry form to enquire about our products, however we will only use that information for the purposes described in clause 2.4 below.

    2. We gather your information to allow us to process your order. The relevant information is then used to communicate with you on any matter relating to the processing of your order in general. Your payments are processed by a third party payment provider. Your payment/credit/debit card details are sent by you direct to them. We do not have, and will not retain, access to your payment/credit/debit card details. We also require a picture (which may comprise personal data) from you in order to fulfil your order. We will delete the picture you send to us within 12 months of our fulfilment of your order.

    3. We may use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop our site and our services. We may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

    4. We may also provide you with information about special features of our site or any of our other products or services we think may be of interest to you, by email or SMS. If you would rather not receive this information please tick the box to “opt out” when you submit your details, or alternatively you can unsubscribe at any time by following the link on any marketing email or SMS sent by us.

    1. Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information. These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of the website which helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our site and also allows us to improve our site.

  4. How we protect your information

    1. The internet is not a secure medium. However we and our payment processor have put in place various security procedures. For example, SSL encryption is used in processing your payments.

    2. We will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information. However, you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal information which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet.

  5. Disclosure of your information

    1. You agree that we have the right to share your personal information:

      1. In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. If our business or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

      2. If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms and conditions of sale or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our officers/agents, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

    1. The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for our suppliers. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order and the processing of your payment details. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

  7. Your consent

    1. By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy. If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of our site, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. 

  8. Updating your details

    1. We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your email address or name, please let us know by sending an e-mail to iwannabefaced@gmail.com. You may ask us, or we may ask you, to correct information you or we think is inaccurate, and you may also ask us to remove information which is inaccurate.

  9. Right to access, erasure, objection and data portability

    1. You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please send an email to iwannabefaced@gmail.com. We reserve the right to charge a fee, not exceeding any applicable statutory rate, for complying with such requests.

    2. You also have a right to be forgotten by us – we will erase your information upon a written request sent via email or letter unless continued retention is necessary by law. 

    3. You can object to our use of your information for marketing purposes by sending us a notice via email or letter. We will then cease processing your information in the way objected to unless that use is protected under applicable Data Protection legislation. 

    4. You can also restrict the way in which we process your information if the information is inaccurate, unlawful or you require it for a legal claim. If you inform us by email or letter that you wish to restrict the way in which we use your information we will continue to store it and only process it with your consent, for use in legal claims, to protect the rights of another individual or for an important public interest reason. We will inform you before lifting the restriction in these cases.

    5. You also have the right to request that we send the information we hold on you to either yourself in a commonly used and machine readable format or to another company where this is possible.
